Why The Panthers Will Cover The Spread/Win

Aleksander Barkov's health was a concern heading into game three, but he showed it should not have been. Barkov has a goal and an assist in the game and now leads the team in points in the playoffs. So far in the playoffs, he has seven goals and 14 assists. He also has a goal and six assists on the power play, plus a goal and an assist shorthanded. Barkov already has a goal and three assists in the series as well. The Panthers have plenty of production beyond Barkov as well. It starts with Matthew Tkachuk. He is second on the team in points so far in the playoffs. He has five goals and 15 assists while having six assists on the power play. Tkachuk also just got his first point of the series with an assist in game three.

Evan Rodrigues has been great in this series so far. In the playoffs, he has six goals and six assists, good for 12 points. He has two goals and an assist on the power play as well. So far in the finals, he has three goals, plus one of the goals in on the power play. Further, Rodrigues had an assist last game. Carter Verhaghe has also added a goal so far in the series. Overall in the playoffs, he is third on the team in points with ten goals and eight assists. Further, the Panthers got Sam Reinhart going last game. He had a goal and an assist in game three. He has scored nine goals and six assists in the playoffs.

The story of the playoffs for the Panthers has been Sergei Bobrovsky. In the postseason, Bobrovsky has a 2.07 goals against average in the playoffs, with a .916 save percentage. He is coming off his worst game of the series, stopping just 32 of 35 shots. That was good for a .914 save percentage. Still, he has 1.33 goals against average and a .953 save percentage in the series.

Why The Oilers Will Cover The Spread/Win

Connor McDavid has been the leader of this team in the playoffs. He has scored five times but with 29 assists, good for 34 total points. He also has two goals and 12 assists on the power play. McDavid needs to continue to produce. He now has three assists in the series but does not have a power play point. Meanwhile, Zach Hyman is the top goal scorer for the team in the playoffs. He has 14 goals so far in the playoffs, plus four assists. Five of the goals have come on the power play, but he does not have a point in the series and will need to find the back of the net in game four to keep the Oilers alive.

Leon Draistaitl has not gotten going in this series either. He has ten goals in the playoffs and 18 assists, tying him for second on the team in playoff points. He also has no points and has not scored a goal yet in the series. Further, Evan Bouchard will look to get rolling in game four. Bouchard has six goals and 22 assists in the playoffs, with a goal and 11 assists on the power play in the playoffs this year.

Stuart Skinner will be in between the pipes in this one. He has a 2.59 goals against average and a .893 save percentage in the playoffs so far. Skinner is also coming off his worst game of the series. He allowed four goals on just 23 shots, good for a .826 save percentage.

Final Panthers-Oilers Prediction & Pick

The worst game for Sergei Bobrovsky in the series has still been better than the best for Stuart Skinner. Further, the Panthers have shut down Leoon Draisaitl and Zach Hyman. The Panthers are also getting scoring from all areas, and continue to rack up goals. While both offenses scored plenty in game three, there is not reason to expect the sweep not to happen.
