If Scottie Scheffler is feeling unstoppable these days, it is because he is. Ranked as the No. 1 golfer in the world, Scheffler added to his ever-growing collection of victories on Sunday when he topped the 2024 the Memorial Tournament presented by Workday with a total score of 8-under 280. Scheffler didn't look as dominant at Muirfield Village Golf Club in Dublin, Ohio as he did in his previous wins, but at the end of the day, he ended up on top — again.

For those counting, Scheffler's latest victory was his fifth of the 2024 PGA Tour season. With his win at Muirfield Village Golf Club, Scheffler also joined an extremely exclusive golf list. How exclusive? Let's just say that the only other member is no other than 15-time major winner Tiger Woods.

Scheffler and Woods are now the only golfers to ever win the Masters Tournament and the Memorial in a year, as noted by ESPN.

Scheffler bested the field at the Masters last April when he shot 11-under 277. Woods, on the other hand, won the Masters and the Memorial in the same year back in 2001. Woods won the Memorial three years in a row from 1999 to 2001. Overall, Woods has five Memorial victories and is 18/18 in the said tournament all-time.

Scheffler is batting incredibly high in 2024. He has won five times in only 13 starts and with plenty of tournaments left to play. Thus far this season, the 27-year-old Scheffler has 12 top 10s and has never finished outside of the top 25. In fact, he has yet to finish worse than a T-17 this season. His other three victories to date apart from the Masters and the Memorial were at the Arnold Palmer Invitational presented by Mastercard, THE PLAYERS Championship, and RBC Heritage.

With his form, there is no question about Scheffler being a favorite to win the next tournament on the schedule which is the 2024 US Open at Pinehurst Resort & Country Club in North Carolina. Scheffler finished tied for second at the US Open in 2022 and third in the 2023 edition of the event.

“FIVE wins in his last EIGHT starts and the first as a new dad. Scottie Scheffler has the golf world in the palm of his hands,” posted @barstoolsports.

“scottie scheffler has either won a golf tournament, produced a child, or been arrested for felonious assault of a police officer in 7 of the last 12 total weeks,” said @kylerrobbins.

“The gap in total OWGR points between Scottie Scheffler and world No. 3 Rory McIlroy is the same as the gap in total OWGR points between Rory and world No. 613 Anthony Quayle,” noted Kyle Porter of CBS Sports.

“Looks like the only one who can stop Scottie Scheffler these days is Officer Bryan Gillis of the Louisville Police Department,” joked Rich Eisen.

“Wasn’t the prettiest but style points don’t mean s**t in golf. Scottie Scheffler has 5 wins before the U.S. Open: Masters, Players, two player-hosted invitationals and another signature event. Running out of superlatives for this run. Can’t wait to watch him at Pinehurst,” commented @Daniel_Rapaport.

“Best since Tiger in his prime,” chimed in @PaganettiRyan.

A bold take (?) from @USC_Nico: “He will be one of the greatest to ever play”

From @TheApexHound: “5th win of the season & we’re in June. Kinda nuts”

“We’re all witnessing greatness. Scottie is inevitable,” said @iam5011.
